Hi Mr B

Super update as per usual....kind of just occurred to me I might not have checked in this week (my bad!) I always check in at least the once so anyway I'm still standing and this is day 77, just been a super busy week. Keep up the excellent work and best wishes to all members.

Hey TR - I took your Monday night post as a check in mate!!! Knew you'd be still going strong!! A lot stronger than our teams defended today - totally gutted - what an opportunity to get into the semis eh? 2 big games coming up - 6 points in 6 days and today will be long forgotten!!

Stay strong mate!

Mr B

Kind of in two minds about today, with so many injuries already a cup run could be detrimental but looking at the draw it looks like we could have had the easiest possible route to a day out at Wembley! However, I will gladly swap that opportunity if we go up.

Oh yeah I forgot about my Monday check in, it's been a strange week on many levels. Take care my friend 🙂

P.s. Linda - Please accept my sincere condolencies for your loss, just saw your post. Terrible news. Stay Strong.

Brilliant update, Mr. Brightside, thank you so much! Well done to all of us (and hugs to those who need them for whatever reason, especially Linda in such tough times) Wondering what to do as my good deed but while I figure that one out, I am going to work out what I have saved on slots in the last 148 days, must be at least 30/day average and that is minimum. Good luck all, keep going. x

hey mr b and fellow challengers

I am so overwhelmed by the support I have received of you guys this past week, I can honestly say that it has been the hardest week so far on this forum and I managed to get through it without gambling. For someone that used to think that gambling would see me through any trauma, this has been a major breakthrough. All I can do is say thanks to all of you and I am so proud of all of us for getting this far.

69 days - linda xxxx

Great update Mr B tbh expected nothing less, it was a tough week with the site being down at times, more to the point it was *** frustrating!!! I think that's why a lot of us were challenged emotionally because it was outwith our control, hopefully when the new site is up and running we won't have these problems.

Beer sounds gr8 m8 def need to get something organised soon buddy.

Derek 🙂

Hi everyone.

I'm checking in for the very first time, MASSIVE SIGH. I've had a problem with gambling now for a number of years, I dread to think how much it's cost me, it's genuinely upsetting and depressing.

I've tried telling my girlfriend and even my Dad in the past, but neither of them really understood the severity of it and never checked up on me as such.

Reading some of your stories on here has really inspired me, and I've tried going "cold turkey" alone in the past, and failed. I'm a really competitive person so I'm hoping by writing it down to you guys, it will help me out.

Everywhere I've read online says "tell someone" or "tell your family". I'm hoping you guys will become that someone. Any words of wisdom or encouragement will be greatly appreciated.

Will

Evening everyone,

For those of you joining late this week and haven't seen the update, it's on page 79.

Ok then, firstly, what a great way to start the week off - real energy and positivity about the group. Delighted to see leedsv back - thanks for the post mate.

ram90 - welcome to the team mate - sorry that you have found yourself here, but now that you are, I hope that you find the team spirit on this thread a real positive influence in your recovery. I've added you to the opening post on page 1. Please check in again later in the week with an update on days clean and I'll formally welcome you with this Sundays update.

No_Problem - thanks for coming back to me. Can't say I'm not disappointed but I know you'll have sound reasons and whatever it takes to beat this then every one of us will be right behind you.

Congratulations to ashamed on reaching 50 days today and also Lou (lec101) on her 70 days........a milestone that Linda reaches tomorrow!!

Front page is updated with all the recent check ins and the asks for new members.

Mr Brightside - checking in on Day 71!!

Checking in on day 63, 9 weeks of normality, 9 weeks of living life rather than existing! Its a big thanks to all you guys on here. As a gambler I was good at finding excuses to gamble, if the slightest thing went wrong the first thing I would do is run to a bookies. This last few weeks has been up and down for me, but I have stayed strong and the last place I want to be is the old gambling Phil. I want to be a better person, I want to have a better life and I also don't want to let any of you guys down. I have signed up to this challenge and its important to me to complete it. Gambling Phil let loads of people down, 2014 Phil so far hasn't let anyone down and it feels good.

I cant wait to meet up at the the end of 2014 to celebrate all we have achieved and hopefully all be signed up to the 2015 challenge.
