Hi everyone, I failed. I played a local fruit machine. And even though I won a good chunk of money and walked away, I still broke the rules.

Honesty is everything here.

We CAN and we WILL.

Good evening and it's ... Friday! Thank you for checking in everyone and for your kind and supportive messages both to me and the rest of our group - we're a team and what a team! And I hope, whether you're working or not this weekend, that you are continuing your resolve to, one day at a time, resist dipping into the rancid pool of misery, and continue to swim in the clear waters of life - gambling free. It's not easy. Those clear waters are cool, but they're refreshing. The rancid pool is murky, and you could easily sink. Let's have a clear weekend.

There are a few changes to our group. Barney, we haven't heard from you for a while and are therefore 'resting' you from the group. You are always welcome back; just let us know how you're getting on; we will always support you.

To keep the karma, we have a new arrival to our group, the appropriately named newB. Welcome newB, you're on day Day 8 and showing committment. Let's see what you've got. Welcome aboard!

KP82 has had a blip; we applaud your honesty. I hope you get straight back into the saddle again and note you've made a fresh start and are on 5 days. I want you to succeed KP. All I ask is that, should you blip again and hit a slot, picture your family's faces whilst you're gambling. What would their expressions look like? I think I know you well enough to say this KP, and I say this not in a judgemental way - we are all fallable - but to really hope you can really make it count this time.

Payday is coming up for some of us, the January salary. Try this. Take your net salary and deduct all bills, food, debt repayments, everything. What's left is yours. Divide it by 20. That, give or take a day, is what you have left, for you, for every day you worked in the last month. Consider what your gambling splurges cost. How many day's worth at a time have you been spending? Remember, each of those days is a full days hard work! It'll make you think... and it certainly made me think.

Have a great GF weekend everyone.

*** JOKE OF THE DAY *** - Tommy Cooper classics!

"A man walked into the doctor's. He said, 'I've hurt my arm in several places.' The doctor said, 'Well don't go there any more!'"

"Police arrested two kids yesterday. One was drinking battery acid, the other was eating fireworks. They charged one and let the other one off."

Two packs of crisps are by the side of the motorway. A car pulls over and asks: "Fancy a lift?". One of the packs replies: "No thanks, we're Walkers!"

WCAWW

P.S. It's Sbb's big 5 - 0 tomorrow and I believe he's having a sherbet or five tonight! Enjoy the last of your forties Sbb, and enjoyed your post earlier.

Big happy birthday SBB x

Well done on 3 weeks Moorey. A nice little milestone!

Welcome Samson and congratulations on 132 days gf!

Great work as ever Mixer. Loving the battery/firework gag. Told it to my 14 year old girl as if it was a true news story and a minute later coughed up her tea as the penny dropped! Priceless!

Markman here signing off 11 days to the good.
