Really good mate. Had my daughter today took her out and bought her a load of pens and felt tips and a load of other things because she loves drawing. Gambling wise only about 2 weeks to go until fobt reduction in stake. The amount of money I have lost on these things must be easily over 30 grand probably a lot more. What I could have done with that money. But hopefully one the stake reduction happens anyway I know I wont play them because £2 would not give me a buzz.

Cheers signalman as always. Well 11 days stake reduction I know I keep talking about it and people might think I am relying on it to much but for me it’s a game changer. Don’t play slots and no online accounts got gamstop on me phone. So for me things will change plus I never liked online roulette always been addicted to fobt roulette but £2 stake I would not bother

Still remember the day I got hooked on fobt roulette I stick £4 in had £3 on zero and 25p on 1,2,3,4. Guess what happened zero came out. I was over the moon £108 for £4. But that was the day my downfall started I always had a bet on the horses greyhound but nothing serious. So good riddance to no more stakes over £2 you b******s have cost me pretty much everything. I’m in a good place money wise so let’s not screw it up now.

Yeah mate keep reminding yourself what youve lost money can't buy... Sorry to put it like that but sadly it's true and you need to do whatever you can to stay off those machines... I hope your mind doesn't stray to other forms of gambling when the reduction comes in, if it happens to the above reality should hopefully sober you up.

Yes mate... I would say my gambling properly started after a significant win off a free bet. Boasted about it in the pub, thought about it all the time, done the lot the week after. Should have realised then that I have a problem. Would have saved a lot of hassle and heartache, as well as the money.

You've just made me realise actually, I probably gambled all these years despite my problem because the only person I was hurting was myself. Once my stakes/risks increased I was hurting those around me and affecting their future which probably explains why I chose then to put a stop to it and enter recovery. I'll hurt myself all day long but I don't want to hurt my family, I need to work so hard to stay on top from here. Every day I need to stay ahead.

Yeah I’m with you on that one. I never meant to hurt any one but My gambling destroyed my relationship with my girlfriend. I’m like you I don’t mind hurting myself but when you hurt love ones. It makes you feel even worse and that all your bothered about but we don’t think about that when we are on a gambling binge

Just read ur diary, I'm sure the bookies will have something up their sleeve, probably a few months of slots paying out more than usual to get people hooked then misery all over again. Don't get hooked to slots, don't even give them a try, u will allways lose if u keep playing them!!!

I have no intention of playing slots mate. Never interested me I find them boring tbh but like you say the bookies will be giving out free spins for slots and things like that I have no doubt.

Oh dear mate. Well next week is a fresh start to your life one hopes. I hope you put this nightmare behind you and keep up with the odd post here and there to let us know how transformed your life has become.

It is worrying you had one last blow out... Really it is. I hope you don't look for your fix elsewhere when the stake reduction is enforced. I know you say you won't but it's hard to believe you when you've gone back to gambling so many times. I've been looking through loads of your posts and Graeme it's striking that I don't think you've ever mentioned once that you actually WANT to give up gambling or that you WILL give up gambling. You've often mentioned that you NEED or HAVE to give up gambling or that life would be better if you didn't gamble but they are two different things.

That's the bit that worries me after April reduction comes in. Let's hope you keep your word. If the worst happens please go seek professional help asap as you'll certainly need it at that point.

I hope you never gamble again after April. Good luck.
