Hi again everyone, This is not a long post like the last one 🙂

I am absolutely rubbish at staying in a negative place for long, to be honest I get on my own nerves. This breakneck introduction to the perils of gambling and the affect it has on others has made me take stock of some very basic needs. I mentioned in my "long post" how lonely and alone I feel, and how it has seeped into my life over at least 2 years. Well I want to change that and with that in mind I want to ask some of you how you deal with these feelings. I have got a job now, I think, so that is one way to meet people. I have a very large family and I am greatful to them but sometimes you just need a different kind of conversation and fun to what you would have with your family. I have no friends to speak of.......yes it's true and quite sad but I thought I had all I needed. So where some people are new to the dating game I am completely new to the friend making game. And of course it all has to be done on a budget or no money at all. I like dancing and music so I'm going to look for some local Northern Soul Nights, I've always wanted to go to one. I like to go to the cinema and you can do that quite cheaply round here on a Monday. But I really would like to have friends. Are there sites online where you can join and make friends on your compatability? I love sewing and make clothes but it is quite a solitary hobby or very expensive to go to classes. The Gamanon is to far away to go for me. Are there chat rooms where people talk about anything and everything? If there arn't any friend making websites out there are there any budding entrepeneur's out there that want to build one? I look forward to your ideas

hi, i come to the chat room here every night at 8pm, come along we chat rubbish, sometimes new people come in and we offer advice about how to stop gambling but we do have a good time. Also ive been to a northern soul night in brighton and it was amazing and not expensive at all, they are all over the country. I reckon you should get you husband to get a loan in his name, pay you back what ur in debt due to him, then you wont have to worry about what your spending as really why should you its not your fault. Just an opinion, welcome to the forum i did read the whole story yesturday and felt really bad for you. adam

Hi Merry go Round, I like the sound of a walking group, we don't have a local hobby craft, which is probably a good thing because I would want ot buy everything. Hope your doing ok.

Chat room is found by going to 'home' at top of page if your on iPhone, I think laptop might be different. But home page should show chatroom when it's open (8pm) and during day. You should find list of times. There is also gamanon online 8-9 Sunday nights.

Hi all I’ve just signed up so not sure what to expect! I’ve just found out my husband has a gambling addiction and has spent over £3k in the last few months I’m struggling with quite a few things so my friends suggested I look at speaking to others so here I am

Hi GemP how are you, Sorry to hear your news, but it's nice to hear from you. As you have just joined the site (I'm reletively new myself) you may have not noticed you have added a thread to an existing post. That might mean your introduction could get missed by most people and you might not get the support you deserve. If you go back a page, or go back to forums, click on family and friends, then create a post and say hi to everyone, why not give a bit of your story if you feel like it.

Hope that helps and welcome

Sorry help needed again, want to find meetings to attend. Nothing in my area, not a problem, willing to travel. Please can someone confirm what I'm believing. Gamanon is for family and friends. Gamblers Anonymous is for the CG........or do they both do meetings for both parties?

Hi Patsy, yes you are correct Gamanon is for family members and GA for gamblers.

GA does have open meetings where family/friends can attend with the CG's...but being the gambler I am not sure how Gamanon works.

Gamanon family and friends. It's normally on at the same time and venue as GA just in a different room.
