Hi Joydivider - thanks for your feedback about captcha. It sounds as though you are being asked to complete a puzzle every time you post. Is that correct? It should only require the puzzle solving when you register. The rest of the time when you post, it should just be a simple tick box saying 'I am not a robot'.

We would appreciate it if users could tell us on this thread whether you are seeing a puzzle every time or if you are getting the simple tick box.

Many thanks

Deirdre

On mobile, usually a puzzle but occasionally a tick box. Anything spread over two squares is ambiguous, particularly street signs, and I'm still learning how to recognise gas stations.

Always different...sometimes nothing..
Often road signs..cars or gas stations...I've found the quicker I tick the boxes. ...and often it's wrong ones I tick...it lets me in

Just encountered the new street numbers puzzle, where you have to tick squares with street numbers, then you get new pictures with fewer street numbers and you only verify when there are no street numbers. Not sure I'd want to do that too many times when under severe emotional pressure.

Sorry to have to post the following.... I understand the need to stop spam and hacking in this day and age. I don't mind logging-on and having to prove I'm not a robot immediately, but then when I post something, to have do it again is very frustrating, especially when somtimes a combination of over 4 sets of street signs, shop fronts or mountains are displayed before allowing me to continue. To be honest it does put me off from posting........ Now I need to prove I'm not a robot again!!!

Hello Shep72,

Thank you for this feedback. We have been made aware by forum members that this sometimes happens and sometimes it doesn't, and we can appreciate how it could generate feelings of frustration. I will bring this to the attention of our manager again to see if the website developers can do something more to bring about an improvement.

Thanks again for letting us know that this is still happening for you.

I have @ least one puzzle everytime I post, even if I notice a typo & try & edit it straight away (I use an iPhone) but in any case, the spam has been pretty much as bad since we've had this so what exactly is the point?

I always have to solve a puzzle. I use an I pad. It was pointed out in posts 31 and 41 that there was a problem with having to do captcha each time of posting....shame Deano wasn't being moderated at the time.

Maybe, just maybe the problem of having to confirm you are not a robot is connected to browsing the web-site in "private" mode on safari iPhone or "incognito" mode using google chrome, "InPrivate window" using Windows internet explorer..... All these modes handle cookies from the websites differently.

Today I've been using Safari on my iPhone and after each post just click the "I'm not a robot" box and it posts without any bl00dy mountains, gas stations, shop fronts etc.

Admin let me know if this works

It's still a puzzle a post for me. Are any adjustments likely to be made?

Thanks,
