I was in the gamcare chatroom. I was suicidal and needed to chat and I was kicked off with no support. I don't know whether I'll make it through the night, but I kind of expected more support.
Andy
I felt you being removed (in my opinion) was harsh and i did say the same to the moderator.
I was not being rude earlier. I was being honest at and with your current mindset and situation.
If i came across as being unkind it was not my intention.
Recovery has taugh me honesty (however tough) is needed.
Perhaps ring the Samaratins or Nhs direct on 101.
Best wishes
Try to stop drinkin for tonight mate maybe get some sleep if you can I know it's hard though
Andy, you stated that you were drunk, and feeling suicidal. The chat room was not the right place for you to be, phone Samaritans or mental health crisis team, you need support that chat is not able to give. Maybe you need to have your meds reviewed; chat will still be there when you are in a slightly better place and ready to face your gambling addiction, for tonight you need help from other sources. Best wishes.
meHi I registered with gamcare today as I am a compulsive gambler and needed some advice about many things I have going through my mind, so I opened a live chat and got straight onto an advisor which was great but this is my whole conversation from start to finish
Hi Andy,
Sorry that you felt not supported yesterday.
We are aware that your were supported, and further support was followed with an email to you.
You may also want to take the advice some people have given on here, and try coming on the chatroom not drunk, or refering to yourself as drunk.
The Chatroom is not the place to talk about suicidal ideation, any such feelings can be looked at with Helpline Advisers, on our Telephone Helpline or Netline. People have come to the chatroom with differnt issues, and issues like this could trigger stuff for others. Suicidal ideations mentioned anywhere on the Forum is dealt with sensitivily, and the Chatroom is no different.
You could go back and read your email Andy and if you would like to raise any concerns, please email Forum Admin.

Hello Rich2626262,
We've edited out the text of the conversation between you and the adviser. These conversations are confidential between you and GamCare and are not to be published on a public forum.
However, you seem to be dissatisfied that the adviser you reached was just going off shift.
It is vital for the smooth running of the service and for the advisers' own wellbeing that they stick to their scheduled shift times, including lunch breaks. That way the service always has the optimum number of advisers on duty and the advisers are refreshed and able to support you to the best of their abilities.
If someone calls the telephone helpline and gets through to an adviser just at the end of their shift, they will do their best to put the caller through to another adviser if there is one free. Unfortunately the technology does not allow us to do that on the Netline, so instead we request that you wait a few minutes and connect again, when you should get through to an Adviser who can stay with you for longer.
We hope that you did indeed connect again and chat to another adviser, and we hope this clarifies our approach for you and anyone else who was wondering.
We wish you all the best with your recovery.

nb, We've moved this thread to the Feedback section as that is the best place for feedback about our service.
