Good morning everyone,

I hope you are all well & staying Disciplined.

Today marks my 90th day gamble free. After many failed attempts of quitting over the last 9 years, I feel I have finally conquered the urges to gamble. The realisation of my stupidity are what occupies my mindset.

How an earth can someone so good with money who would place the odd £2 football bet comfortably each weekend for many years then turn into an out of control addict?

Covid and the lack of football being played made me turn my attention to Blackjack & roulette and that is when my finances starting crumbling out of control. Losses of 5k each week was a regular occurrence and before I knew it I was 250k in debt. Stress and eventually alopecia hair loss started to occur. However I still carried on losing money, before I hit that rock bottom moment, I couldn’t get any further loans or credit cards, my borrowing had maxed out every avenue, my credit rating had plummeted and I was left at a crossroads……I need to get my act together or be homeless, 90 days later here I am.

I cannot be beaten, I must change my life forever. I am less than 3 years for being debt free. Keep fighting.
Thank you to everyone that reads and comments, it’s you guys that keeps me motivated. Weirdfish - Tatman - PinkLady - G100

Congratulations King on reaching 90 days g.f - 3 months!! 👏👏👏. Keep doing what you are doing and as the days/weeks pass, your mind will strengthen with positive thoughts and less so with triggers. 🙏.

Have a lovely day.

Pink Lady 💗🍎.

Well done mate, great to see you overcoming this battle with this awful disease.

Stay on guard and keep the hatred of what this addiction has done to your life at the forefront of your mind.

Our story is so similar as I too used to bet on a £10 accumulator every weekend before I got sucked into the roulette world. Unfortunately the losses meant that I couldn’t go back to a sensible £10 bet and I still don’t understand how it got me so bad.

Anyway let’s hope we can both finally put this behind us and live a happy life that is there if we really want it.

G

@c17ort good job with the abstinence, way to go. It is my first (1st) day of abstinence and hopefully will become weeks, then months then years. I am actively looking into tools like Gamban and others, so basically any advice will be considered. One day at the time. [10+ years problem gambling]

90 days is an incredible feat. Absolutely superb.

I, like you, used to be able to bet a couple of pounds on the football quite comfortably with no issues until I discovered online slots and the addiction took over. I don't know how or why, it just did.

I'm 23 days gamble free now and will continue to fight this awful addiction.

Thanks for sharing your story and well done again.

Legend mate. Thanks for the mention. Great to see that by sharing a story it can impact someone else. We are all in the pits; we are all gambling addicts? But by learning from each other we can beat this.

awesome job so far.

Stay strong 💪
