Hi James, when people come to this site they are generally in a mess (either financially or mentally or both) like I am - but as I know the first thing a posting on this site needs is a response back (it helps, its comforting). You are not the only person in the world to experience the feelings you have now (I have had them since my last relapse) many others on here have had them and still get them. Options to feel better - firstly remove the ability to gamble, - self exclusion online/bookies, install gamblock on computer, only carry minimum cash to work (you won't earn a gambling windfall from 5.00 stake)-give your finances to someone else to control, secondly replace the gambling in your life with something else to drive your 'buzz' levels up, exercise? reading, walking, come on here and read&post! Thirdly talk to some-one it helps a bit, but only you and I mean only you can deal with the mess/issue. I have been trying for five years to rid myself of the habit, only now when I know I can no longer afford to gamble (debt is a terrible issue to deal with as well) am I making a determined effort to quit. THIS ADVICE WAS GIVEN TO ME FROM THIS FORUM ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS OVER THE LAST FEW YEARS. IF I HAD LISTENED THEN I WOULD NOT BE IN THE FINANCIAL MESS I AM TO-DAY. So stopping gambling, the assists are out there, but it has to come from you, the losses are never coming back, accept the 'slots/roullette' chance games are rigged in favour of the bookie. YOU CANNOT WILL NOT WIN IN THE LONG-TERM.
