hello i am on day 50 without a bet but was close to slipping last night i was waiting for a freind to come and there was a bookies where i was meeting him so i ended up going in sat on the stool with a football coupon in my hand and a pen thinking one football bet wont do nothing to me i will stop again after it but i thought back to september when i went 27 days done a £20 football bet and chaos erupted could not stop thats all it takes so that came to mind and the 50 days i have worked for so i just put the coupon and pen on the side and walked out was a close one but am happy i never done it
Great work!! Difficult to do... very well done..... hope you continue strongly in your quest
Hey well done on 50 days, keep it up, don't give in to the urges, your life is better without gambling x
Well done. Ive never noticed how much gambling advertising is all around us until i realized i was addicted. Be stromg and you are pretty inpirational to someone who gambled yesterday.
Hi GGGG,
Well done for abstaining for 50 good days, and also for not responding to the urge to gamble that night. It seems like the temptation was rather high; perhaps it would be advisable to try and meet your friend at a different spot next time – in a library, cafГ©, shop, or supermarket, etc. You really put yourself into a difficult situation, and I’m wondering if you intended to test your paws?
Honestly, you should be proud of yourself for not faulting, and glad that you realised the challenge, and walked out of the premises.
You also managed to reflect on the consequences when you relapsed after 27 days of not gambling. All these are some of life experiences that one has to learn from, and it seems like you’re doing that perfectly well.
Maybe you’d like to contact us on the Helpline on: 0808 8020 133, and chat with one of our advisers on your progress, and also for encouragement.
Well done you!! Try and keep up the good work, and please keep posting.
Best wishes,
Beatrice
