Hi All,

New to all this, so not entirely sure how it all works. But I have recently relapsed on my gambling and racked up some serious debt. I told my family and girlfriend yesterday, I am 24 and have previously managed to go over a year without gambling so I know I can do it but this time has to be different, I won’t have anyone left if I fall back down this black hole again. I am signed up to all the blockers etc. But found a way to gamble on sites that weren’t registered to Gamstop etc. My usual betting tendencies tend to be on sport, all sport, any sport. I love my football and want to get back to enjoying the games again rather than watching them for a bet. I’m going to spend my free time spending more quality time with my girlfriend who has been nothing short of remarkable about it all.
My family are also taking control of my finances, which should also help.
Any advice from anyone as to how to expect the next few weeks and months to go? I’m also looking for resources/books/videos which people found useful.

Thanks in advance

Hi you mentioned you had signed up to blockers you have mentioned gamstop.

Just want to make sure you are also aware of gamban a blocking software gamcare can offer you a free code too. Also a lot of banks have blocks available for gambling.

You will still get urges and times when you want to gamble that is why the blocks are so helpful.

I did a online ccbt course via gamcare that really helped me with my thoughts around gambling.

This is the link if you wish to take a look it is part of the gamcare site

Every day at 1pm and 8pm their is also a chatroom available it really helps going on their talking to others about your recovery and how its going to get more tips and support
