Hello. I have been gambling 'seriously' for approximately 10 years now, primarily online sports. Over the years, I amassed debts of around 35K, caused mostly by irrational gambling. Fortunately, I have always had a well paid job, and was able to pay this back relatively quickly, to the point where I was 'debt free' a couple of years ago. Yesterday, I lost over 5K... This is my first reach out for help, I really can't carry on like this. It is affecting my mental health, and relationships. I have to find a way to stop.

Hi, pjg your back in the right place. I my self have very similar circumstances to yourself. Very well paid job losing extreme amounts of money. With no reason of why I do it. But as a community we can beat this horrible habbit. Your so much better than chucking money like that away. That's what I tell myself from now on

Thanks for your support Timeforchange1 - much appreciated !! I am absolutely determined not to bet again... spraggy2014 : hang in there mate, I'm new to all this, and have never reached out for help before !! My advice to you, for what it's worth, would be to just get through one day at a time - eventually, the fog will clear and things will start looking better...

Hello, I've been here before, many years ago, and now I'm back. I've no idea how much I've won - and ultimately lost - in the forty odd years I've gambled; don't really want to know, as I'm ashamed enough as it is, having reached 60 and done nothing serious about it. I'm bored with it nowadays much as anything, and have recently stopped, and think, having read many of the testimonials on here, that becoming a member it will give me the resolve to continue to abstain. I would like to offer my support to all members who have this addiction. Kind regards, Fred.

Excellent PJ,

Half a month, soon to be a month, onwards and upwards.

Hi Fred, get a diary going, so you can be part of this great support network.

Way to go PJG, 30 days, a whole month gamble free, is a great achievement. Please if you feel the urge to gamble, come on here first and see how far you have already come.

Look forward to seeing you get to the 2 months mark.
