Hi I am new to gamcare chat, I have excluded myself from all online casinos, I stupidly found a way around and managed to get onto another gambling site and spent all of my savings, I have gotten into debt and I feel hopeless, I always chase losses and it feels as though my body takes over and I don’t think until I actually realise how much I have spent, I am 30 and in around 7k debt, I really wish I never got to this stage

Hi

Thank you for sharing your painful journey.

By going to meetings I got to understand that my gambling just indicated how emotionally vulnerable I was.

I did not understand that painful events in my life caused fears in me that I did not understand.

By going gamblng I hurt my self and others.

Sadly I use to think that I loved gambling.

Today I understand that was not true.

Before recovery I use to escape to gambling.

The bigger the risk the bigger the buzz.

For me the buzz was fear based, I was trying to run away from my self.

By attending meetings I would learn to abstain from gambling.

And once I abstained from gambling only the could healing of my pains start.

The person I needed to get honest was my self.

In time I would exchange unhealthy habits in to some very healthy habits.

Being in meetings I got to understand that I was not alone.

Being in meetings I got to understand that I could achive far more with my life.

PLease take the recovery program seriously it saves lives.

Hi all just joined this forum as just came back from Casio another 3k down the drain and can’t cope with it anymore as the physical effects now on my body it’s terrible I’m twitching and can’t concentrate on anything just a broken man after 30 years of gambling. I have gave up twice for 5 years and 4 years but had relapses  and the one I’m on now is killing me I feel this is my last chance to kick this or my life was just a waste with losses of 100s of thousands
