I am very recently relapsed, lost my last money (no more for 3 weeks ) all because I played an online slot machine. I have an amazing partner & family, now I'm feeling sick at having to tell them what I've done. I have actually figured out that without GA or similar, I'll feel this sick about myself again, I'll let down everyone again and I don't want to. Reading everyone's stories on here give me hope tho. Sorry for rambling on.

Dear Mint,

Thank you for posting on the forum and for your honesty about how you feel.

Although they can be common in gambling recovery, experiencing a relapse can be very frustrating and sometimes add to debt and cause further financial problems. I’m sorry to hear that you have been affected in that you have lost money and feeling sick about yourself, but I would encourage you to hold on to that hope that you mention when you read other forum users’ stories and what you can achieve.

You can again build on what you had achieved before your relapse and if you haven’t done already, we would encourage you to speak to one of our Advisers who can offer support and discuss the options there for you to get back onto your road to recovery.

We are here 24/7 on the helpline or netline.

Kind regards

Jo

Sorry to hear about your recent relapse was their a trigger do you think, i relapsed beginning of october. But its possible to get back up, dust yourself off and start your recovery again using what you have learnt.

If you havent already get blocks and self exclusion in place, speak to your bank see if they can block transactions.

It really does affect how people feel about themselves the relapse but use this to drive you more forward into recovery. Im really glad you have an amazing partner and family. Im sure they would be pleased for you to get back on the right track. Dont beat yourself up to much your on here there is hope as long as your ready to get up and do the work again. If youve used Ga before and found it helpful its defo worth sticking too.and the meetings could help theres also lots of resources on here to look through.

Lou x

Hello Mint

I can't talk with any great wisdom being only a non-gambler for just 60 days but I can imagine how downbeat you must be feeling. It must be upsetting to have lost the money, but as you have said, you haven't lost "hope" and that's a wonderful position to be in.

Keep going. All the best.

Morning guys,

It's not how many times you fall down that count, it's how many times you get back up.

Stay sane, safe, calm, and take one day at a time.

Xoi
