Hi ,

I am posting on here in order to get help/motivation in order to quit FOBT. I am 21 years old and have gambled since the age of 18. Although I have never been a big gambler (never really placing sports bets on) and not been a regular either. My problem comes down to FOBT I may only go in once/twice a week but I will go in and loose a weeks wage in a sitting. I can go up and most of the time I will still walk out down!!! I hear stories of people addicted to these machines and loosing everything so I am attempting to quit while ahead , I have already alerted my family and they are helping manage my money , any further tips or information would be great thanks.

Hi,

I too was addicted to the FOBT and played every available moment possible.

To stop playing i stopped carrying cash and cards. This was not a whim or an overnight thought. This lasted for 9 months plus.

In simple terms no funds = no fobt.

The days i was given cash (never my card) i provided receipts to the penny. Practically i acknowledge no cash can be difficult but if you want to stop it is a neccessary step IMO

Like me you are an addict. Try.some councelling via gamcare or attend GA.

At 21 you have a second chance before you do further damage. I wish 30 years ago i was given another chance and this site existed.

Best wishes
