So, I've recently admitted to my family and my partner about how serious my addiction has become.... to the point I have baliffs knocking on my door... AWPs (pub machines) is most certainly my biggest issue.
I'm not sure what it is about these... The tension when I get up on the board, or the lights flashing as I pass one. Anyways, I'm at rock bottom now, and I know it's going to be a long and difficult climb to get back to the top... I've already been in contact to CAB for my debt problems. And I've now decided enough is enough and it's time to address the root cause of my problems. For me, it's not as easy as avoiding pubs where temptation is high.... This is due to the fact I work for a very well known pub chain as a chef... so I hope you can understand the difficulty in that option... anyways, I'm sort of rambling, I'm not too certain on what to write, but I hope you can all get the general idea. Hope to chat to you all 🙂
Thanks
Hi / Just wanted to say welcome to the Forum, My problem was the Fob t machines in the bookies and like you have lost thousands , Been gamble free for a month now and couldnt be happier. ! It is amazing how quickly things get better . you might not feel it now but just give it a little time , we all know exactly how you feel buddy !! . Obviously you need to avoid these machines anyway you can but as you work alongside them thats gonna be tough . You obviously need cash or a card to play on these , so for a start just take what you need at work , for lunch ect ! . You need willpower but you need to put as many things in the way of betting as possible . You hear a lot on here about your Time , money , location triangle . Without one of them you can't bet !. Have a read on the forum , look at the diary of others . they are all full of information that will help , as is the Gamcare website As for your debt problem , if its that bad then Stepchange is one thats favoured by a lot on this site . Coming here and admitting you have a problem is a massive step for you . so well done for that !! .Take each day slowly, Little Steps my friend and you can overcome your addiction , Good luck for now Alan who will not gamble today!!
