Hey guys, I'm new here.

Finally had the guts to join after years of gambling. It actually started 8 years ago (So when I was 20 - Yikes!) I just started renting my first house and needed money for furniture.etc. I seen an advert for online roulette one day and BAM! It started. I've gambled on and off since that time and I dread to think how much money ive lost in that time, has to be in the tens of thousands. I'm in around £10K of debt and I know that's because of gambling.

I NEED to stop, I have 2 children and I'm spending money I don't even have!

Today was my last gamble. I am going to make a diary on here and post every single day to keep myself on the right path.

Any other tips guys? Thanks for listening to my ramblings.

Hi,

There's plenty of pages about how to block and prevent yourself from Gambling.

However from a personal point of view I can tell you what worked for me.

Let someone control your money or have access to your accounts. I only have joint accounts now with my wife.

Stopping gambling is a life changing decision for a CG. A new start, becoming a better person from all the negatives that come with a gambling addiction. My new start was coming clean with the wife, going through all the debt and answering all the questions she wanted to ask. If you hide anything at this stage one day they will come back and hurt again.

Attending GA, big factor in my recovery. From understanding this addiction to relating and supporting others, it's like a new education for the new me.

Realising I cannot gamble again is nothing to me now. Life without it is multitudes better.

You need to be strong minded and determined. Focus on the good things in life. Learn what were your triggers to gamble. Be in control of your life, when your in the midst of an addiction your not in control.

Hope this helps. All the best.
