Thanks for your input joydivider. I am in a lot of debt from online roulette and slots. 3x maxed out. Credit cards aswel as a mortgage extension on my house which was intended for paying of those cards. Quitting roulette etc would be the best thing in my life. Like now, I won't play again for atleast a month as I have exhausted my money for this month. And I got paid 3 days ago. Unbelievable.
I'm going to self exclude from the poker sites for a few month and get straight, (slightly more than I am now even though it will take a couple years) but I will exclude and take it seriously. Honestly roulette has ruined my life. Time to kick it into touch and if that means putting poker on hold then so be it.
Hopefully one day I am able to play poker freely without thinking about tier section coming in ha!
Again thankyou all for your comments and I will reply to anyone that does comment
Matt.
I am not one for ultimatums and you have to be ready. If you take yourself offline that is a brilliant start.
You need to fully focus. Gambling will take you to new lows you may not have thought of yet. Its not an income scheme in that sense. Its set up for the main reason that it makes money for the dens who dont want to get harder or proper jobs.
As long as you are fully aware that not playing for a month is not the test. I used to do that because I was skint or had to pay bills. The minute I felt slightly flush again I was off gambling it all away.
Look I accept there are different triggers but I dont consider poker a soft option. For every "winner" there will be more losers who have lost everything. There must be compulsive gamblers in poker circles as the stories show.
Put it all on hold and see how you feel. Discuss it with people close and counsellors.
Youve seen the damage it all does in terms of debts and mental health. That should be your main focus but you can get your life back and it all falls into place when you are not gambling.
Im tougher because I actually care about you. Something that the dens and other poker players dont do
Best wishes
Hi Matt
Gambling addiction is a sneaky old disease really. What I mean by that is you're brain has convinced you with the tactic of blame the other guy. An addiction to gambling isn't a type of gambling it's a whole . As you've said one leads to another . So you've convinced yourself as many of us do it's not the poker that's the problem it's the slots , that's what I mean by blaming the other guy . Moving on your blowouts all start with playing poker , so it's not rational to say it's the slots that do it because it's the poker that starts the fire, so the blame for it falls directly on the game you're convinced is the one you want to stay with, again you say that you can go long distances between playing poker that's because you're getting the fix on different levels with slots and all the others,
I'm not doubting that you're a good player I'd consider myself a good slot player but we're way beyond making money out of it because it's become an addiction and when that happens wins are just funding our next fix
Matt if you kept going to stroke a dog that bites you every time how long would it take you to stop attempting to stroke it if you knew the outcome would be a bite?
Take stock of what gambling has taken from you , then weigh it against the things it has given you. Just by you turning up here I'll say it's taken a lot more ?
Matt I've read this forum and the web to death looking for people with an addiction who managed to control it because I wanted it to but I'm yet to find a single case
A long winded welcome from me but hopefully you got my point , but at the end of the day it's your choice how you go about your business and I wish you all the best in what ever you choose to do

Appreciate both your comments. And I have no suspended my accounts until I contact them via email I will not be able to deposit. (And I never use email so will be a while before I do)
I'm going to concentrate on kicking the debt into touch, hopefully can get some money from my credit union to clear the cards and can just pay that back monthly diet debit which is easier for me, if anyone has any good debt plans for credit cards im all ears.
The thing that gets me most is the debt. Every day I'm reminded, each pay day kills me seeing what I've done. That's why I wanted to keep the poker just as an escape and potential to earn some money I can put towards debts. But I am kicking it into touch as said.
Thanks again for all your comments and I'm glad you understood my side rather than just beating down. Appreciate it, but any debt plans / advice would be brilliant. Thankyou.
Google a company called pay plan Matt many forum members use their service and it makes it on to one affordable payment and most cases have the interest frozen aswell. You don't need to struggle there's plenty of help out there for you bud
All the best
