where to start ????
well im 41 ,divorced and live on my own and see my 14 year old son as often as i can.
i would say my problems started 27 years ago whilst at school and played slot machines which then led on to mainly horse betting greyhounds and football betting.i remember being took to ga by my mum at the age of 15 and really during the whole of my life gambling has been a issue.during these years i must have lost/gambled hundreds of thousands of pounds,it has cost me a marraige, trust, dignity and respect and have let down family to the point it is hard to face them.currently i have had a couple of really dark periods in my life like writing this now and a thousand pounds worth of direct debits going out in the morning and not a penny in my bank.including im 12 month into an iva and have been generally doing ok but just relapse and cant control myself. i cant sleep with worry and issues most days and then cant get up in the morning.cannot face my job at the moment and am actually probably at the lowest part of my life.i have tried dating and met some really nice girls but after a couple of months just pull away as i dont want them to get to close to me and am scared because ive already ruined many lifes over the years and i wont do it again so if i dont let anyone in then they are safe.if there was a pill i could take to stop the gambling, get no headaches and live a normal life i would do anything for that.
over the years i have been to counsellors, cbt therapists and ga even a hypnotist.
first time ever on a forum though
