Hi I have finally admitted I have a gambling problem and I feel rubbish.
My husband has had enough and I've let him and my kids down over and over again. Yet I still keep on wasting money on online sites. I gonna go to the doctors next week as I think they may be able to help but do you lot have any tips please. I think my marriage is over I can't blame my husband he has took some c**P over the years but I do love him and don't know if I will cope without him.

One tip Copley. STOP. There are no other tips, once you get to the stage you are at there are no other options. I was where you are 40 days ago, if you truly want to stop, and you truly have to want to stop by any means neccesary. Then let today be the day 22/9/2017 that you tell gambling to f***f. And you will get your life back, the road is tough but you will get there.

Dont let gambling win Copley. You make the choices. Decide which route to take, do a lot of reading on here as there are many paths you can take to beating this addiction but if you want to you can come out the other side. You know that you cant just stop thats why you came here , you can do it and you will get the help you need. And there are a lot of good folks here to help you. Good Luck Copley, you can do it.

Hi Copley and welcome to the forum :)).

Firstly well done on coming here and admitting you have agambling problem , it's never easy to admit it .

As your husband already knows about your problem that's a good start simply because it'll help if you have his support along the way and because gambling loves secrecy .

If I had any tips for you it would be to keep what we refer to on here as your Time , Money , Location broken at all times then you simpy can't bet , So self exclude from all sites you use and download blocking software such as Netnanny or Gamblock to all your devices which will stop you being able to access them , can you hand your finances over to your husband ? or at least don't have a card available to put fund's online , you could alway's report your card lost and when you get the replacement have your hubby scratch the 3 digit code off of the back before you get achance to write it down ? .

There are many things we as Compulsive gamblers can do to keep ourselves away from temptation but a lot of it is about us and how much we want to stop more than we want that next bet . I came here in bits a couple of years ago and at first it was a struggle not to go back andf keep doing what I'd alway's done but over time the urges got less and less and I haven't gambled since . You have to change your life a bit to be honest , find some new thing's to do to fill the time you would have spent gambling , new hobbies for instance ? .

You can do this you just have to really want to :))
