Ok so my names sam I'm 23 and iv always been active and social but recently iv been play a lot of roulette and every time I stop I keep thinking about it, and it's only just hit me that I'm addicted.

Iv done a bit of gambling here and there in the past but it's always been a one of thing. It's never been like this where its taking over my life. I'm lucky I haven't lost much money but I'm scared how quickly I'm losing it just to see my self get it back by a lot of luck. So it is clear to me that I need to quit while I'm ahead or I know I'll lose alot

Any advice would be really appreciated

Hiya Lofty.

Many of us if not all of us wish we could have stopped before doing the inevitable damage we have all done. I recommend reading the overcoming and recovery diaries section of this site as it will be an insight to where gambling will lead you.

As far as roulette goes... Well I have worked in Casinos for many many years and have lost in the region of £30000 playing this game. I have attemped all sorts of methods and strategies, but in the end still end up broke.

Good luck to you,

Hi scambling

Thanks for the advice ill have a look at the overcoming and recovery section.

It's such a horrible game and I know if I carry on ill lose much more than I can afford. Iv been so tempted to go back but iv been keeping my self busy to take my mind off it. And at the moment it's doing the trick.

Also well done for not having a bet since the 7th December

Hi Lofty,

Just a quick one, but one thing you could think about is handing your finances over to someone you can trust. I know this may sound daunting at first, but believe me it helps put this addiction to the back of your mind and help you focus on more important things.

Good luck and take care.

Hi Lofty

NIP IT IN THE BUD MATE!!! before it destroys you. Roulette was my 'thing' and it sucked me in so quick it was almost a blur and before i could realise what was happening i was hopelessly addicted. It nearly killed me.

In a weird way you are lucky because you can see where it is taking you and you still have the powerto do something about it.

You're only 23 and have your life in front of you dont ruin it.

Banish gambling from your life (not just roulette, any form of gambling) and fill your days with productive and enriching activities. I echo what scambling said and keep reading posts and 'horror stories' to remind you where problem gambling can take you.

Stay strong and focussed and stay safe

Best wishes

Ben.

Hi lofty, I've been gambling for about 7 years now. I first started on ****.com playing roulette and lost £400 in the first night, I went to bed feeling sick to my stomach. Over the course of the next 2 months I lost another £400 and it all finally came out and my wife kicked me out for 2 days. I promised I wouldn't do it again but 2 years after that I discovered online Poker. Although Poker gives you more for your money in terms of more play time per ££ and I haven't lost a lot of money but....it's a waste of time. Over 5 years of playing Poker I'm probably down $500 and could've used that time much more wisely to develop myself and my career and earn more money. I'm 35 now and have no savings am in debt and no mortgage because I cant afford to buy a house. But today I am turning my back on it because in order to get where I want I realise now that the only way is to earn it, not win it but earn it and make a future for myself that I can be proud of. You're still young and have a lot of time to make something good of your life rather than waste it all on a stupid game. MAKE YOUR OWN LUCK and MAKE YOUR FUTURE son...Turn your back on this disease as gambling in all forms is a waste of life.
