Hi im dee, struggling bit at the moment - never done this before, but I need to take action as its already getting out of control.

I'm not using the pandemic as an excuse coz its my own fault.

I always thought I was in control but now its not.

I'm not happy in myself in all sectors and dnt have a supportive partner. Hes too busy living his life ive tried so many many times to talk to him but the truth is I cant have any form of communication with him as his priorities doesn't lie with his family. Im not using him as an excuse neither. I just feel so very very alone ? ?

I'm the type of person who would do anything and help anyone- but recently I've realised no ones there for me. I'm not looking for pitty or anything like that i just would like to get out of the rut im in.

Its easier for me to turn to gambling as it switches of the rest of the world. Now I know ive got a problem I dnt want this problem anymore.

Hi there

Can you please share a bit more around your problem please?

If you are looking to stop gambling, make sure you put any blocks in place, e.g GamStop, block gambling transactions on your account etc. You can only help yourself and taking those steps will prevent any urge from gambling.

Hello Dee,

So sorry that you feel like you are struggling at the moment. You have done the right thing coming to the forum as there are lots of people on here who are or have been in a similar situation. You are not alone.

You can call the advisers on here or message them.  They are very supportive and have lots of useful information. It might help you to talk things through.

Keep working on being gamble free. You're doing the right thing.

Take care.

J x

Hey Dee,

Welcome to the forum and well done for introducing yourself here.

It sounds like you are saying that you have recognised that you have a gambling problem, and that some of your needs aren't getting met within your relationships currently, and you are feeling quite unsupported?  Hopefully sharing friendly peer support on the forum will help you to feel less alone and more supported.  You might like to think about calling us on our freephone 0808 8020 133 or Netline.  Do you know you can get free 1-2-1 appointments to support your recovery?  GamCare offers these by telephone or online videocall, due to the pandemic.  Maybe having a weekly appointment could be a way to meet some of your needs at this time.

Call us anytime as the freephone / netline are 24 hours a day, for a supportive chat, or for information, or to access the treatment services if you'd like the weekly appointments.

Keep on posting.

Take care,

Adam.

Im determined to beat this i also do recognise that the lack of support in my marriage is also an issue but one step at a time.

Hi Dee,

I am not sure if your aware but gamcare was giving out free access to gamban so if you find the 7 day free trial is working contact an advisor and see if you can download it for free after
