Hi, my husband has been gambling for as long as I’ve known him easily 20yrs. Nothing too much but over the years I’ve caught him and got to the point of controlling the bank accounts and giving him an allowance each week :(. This worked for a while until his dad put some savings into an act for some reason. I joked at the time that I wouldn’t but I guess I thought my husband would never spend it. Two years later, I open a statement for the acct which shows £2k in Jan going in from my father and taken straight out. Confronted husband and turns out he gambled his dads savings and asked my dad for help ( for another reason ) and with that money he tried to gamble the money back and then lost that too. £7000 loss later I find out and I am gutted. We’ve two small kids and I jut don’t know what to do. I can’t speak to family as we are not close so just need to share my story. Any advice will be welcome x ?
