Hi I'm new to this site & just wanted to say hello. My story I started gambling 5 years ago on online slot machines & lost my home , family unit, job & my sanity over a 4 year period.I have gained a mass of debt & a criminal record through the joys of gambling. Last year when I hit my rock bottom through the grace of god I managed to secure some funding after a major struggle to allow me to go to a rehab center for 5 months then onto a 12 step recovery program for a further 3 months which has saved my life .I have recently returned to my home town & even though my family & friends are still supporting me ( why I ask myself after everything I have put them through) they will never fully understand me as they are not addicts . I have joined here to try & find the support I am missing from my life since returning & also if I can help & support anyone else along the way would be great .

I just wanted to drop a quick line to say that you will get the support you need on this site. It has helped me over the last couple of months as I don't have a great support network outside either.there is a challenge 2014 thread over on the overcoming gambling section run by Mr bright side. You are more than welcome to join and it really is a wonderful support group. We will be there for you as often as you need it.
