Hi i have just signed up to the site i have known for a while i have a problem with gambling but have denied to everone and to my self, i can not have a bet for a couple of days but when i start i cant stop whether im winning or losing. I want to know people are using this site and helping sort themselves out as i have a 3 year old son and a girlfriend that loves me and want to sort myself out b4 this gets too bad. Im not at the stage where it affects my family moneywise but my son asks if im having a bet on the dogs most days and i dont want him following in my footsteps. Any answers and advice will b much appreciated

Welcome to the forum.

Gambling is a progressive addiction - denial is never a good strategy.

Recognising the problem early is a real positive.

Putting a barrier up that will stop you from gambling like self-exclusion, blocking software or handing over finances are all good.

From there different things work for different people. GA, CBT, religion, counselling, hypnosis are some options.

Keeping busy is crucial. It should take your mind off and your time away from gambling.

Reading the forum is a great way to see how different people deal with gambling addiction.
