My heart stopped when you said you were addicted to losing. I can relate to that so much. I tell myself I gamble to make money, when even when I win I play it all back until it's gone. It sounds as tho u have an amazing family who will support u through your recovery. Your wife will be angry but she will be there if you help yourself. My partner is losing patience with me after a relapse after over a year. He's sick of my excuses and actually said he would be less angry if he had caught me cheating!! You will feel stronger after getting a plan in place to repay your debts. The money has gone and I second what mrstop said about owing banks etc, I feel no remorse for offering them a payment plan I can afford. They gave us money when it was apparent we couldn't afford it. Instead concentrate on repaying friends and family and you will feel better in yourself. Good luck with your meeting and we'll done for taking big steps to beat this. Good luck x
There is always a solution when it comes to debt, but the gambling must stop first.
Once that stops the repair process can start.
The main starting point with debt, is to get everything together and work out exactly how much and who you owe.
If you can't manage the repayments, call stepchange or payplan with your debt details and they will advise and assist for free.
The main things to pay are rent and council tax, everything else you can live without or in moderation.
The gambling is the cause of all your issues and once that is under control, you can start the journey of getting your life back on track.
