Right I will do just that cheers
gamblers wife.... forget the money, its gone, its in the past and it never mattered anyway. When my husband gambled, all i wanted back was the man.
It is part of the gamblers illness to count the money and think that the money is what is important, when you are in recovery, you will get your head round how little it matters. Money is just a means to and end, its the ends that matter.
....and the lovely girlfriend that you still have, she doesnt want your money, she wants you.
I have just been reading other people's accounts...It appears most people are in the same boat....After reading a lot these accounts I am wondering if more regulation would help especially with large amounts wagered online and in shops
I know what you're saying, but all of us are exposed to the same thing and most people manage not to gamble compulsively, thousands upon thousands of people dont gamble at all. Theres just something in compulsive gamblers that makes them go too far.
Regulation = rules, and rules mean nothing to CGs.
Personally though, I would love to be able to watch the cricket without being shown dozens of gambling adds every hour, as a family we are trying to keep the gambling in the past and id like the tv to stop reminding us all the time, yes id love it to be regulated like tobacco. It's not an easy road ahead, but worth it,well done with your new start.
Thank you I ve done well today.. tomorrow's another challenge....kids coming love me but stressful ...but should keep me occupied
.....
Well done the hilster another day down. Enjoy your ftime with your kids
Cheers pal I will

Is gambling the addiction. ..or is it money that's the addiction. ..or are most gamblers chasers trying to recoupe losses so they can return to normality. Or maybe it's winning we are addicted to.
Question how many of us would quit if a. The amount we won paid of our debts or b. Returned our balance at the bank to a level it was before we started. .. c to double our original balance.
I did not quit even though i won money. The problem i encountered is when i withdrew money it was in pending for many days. Thats how they caught me . I would always go back next day and spend the lot always chasing the losses. Your question earlier about stopping emails. Go to the bottom of the email and click on 'unsubscribe' otherwise email company and ask them to stop emails. Has worked on 95% sites. Some still dont take notice!! Anyway well done and keep up the good work. Go on the Challenge 2015 forum and keep posting
Money is immaterial mate. Does not matter how much you have got once you are gripped by gambling you are in trouble. Paul Merson Keith Gillespie both had more money than they could ever need but still became addicted to gambling. We can never win because we can never stop. I have known someone personally who win over 50 grand and was the worse thing that ever happened to them because they were not satisfied with that and wanted to chase the next big win.
Just awoken.. i have some money today... i must keep away from bookies... my favourite race today it's the gold cup the race I always pick a winner but despite that I must not go in because while I'm waiting for the race to star my wallet will automatically open my adrenaline will be pumping at a collasal speed as i shovel twenties into the grubby roullette machines. .. no I will steer clear..........i will enjoy a food shop..come home,, and make paste bake. ....well that's the plan........
Slipped up today ...entry in for free (out of newdpaper)bet couldn't resist the roulette. ..put twenty in nearly lost it but on last spin would twenty one pounds at that point though something happened normally I'd play on and loose all but I decided I hate this...i came off disgusted with myself for going on but happy that I realised I don't need to be there I left shop. .never to return...
