Hi there I thought I'd introduce myself via my gambling history. When I was about 18 I lost a significant amount of money from savings sports betting. Since then I've gone through a long period of not gambling or gambling very irregularly.
More recently I've started again and am keen to nip it in the bud before it gets any worse. I'm really putting this statement down as a marker.
Welcome.
I can relate to the feeling of blowing your savings on gambling, it's a horrible feeling upon realisation of what you've done. You'd think that would be enough to stop someone from gambling but unfortunately this is what we have to deal with and hope that we can find a way over time to quit for good.
You said you went through a long period of not gambling? Is there a reason why or how you managed to quit? It could be the answer to being able to nip it in the bud like you said.

Hi Sam. Just thought I'd say that although you've lost a significant amount of money in the past with gambling, there is always the opportunity for a fresh start. Forget about the money you have lost - and put it down to experience. Gambling is a very dangerous pastime which can wreck lives. But you can take control and build yourself a better life.
