So glad to have found you all. Finally admit to myself this online slots gaming is out of hand for me. You get a win or two and start to feel everytime you log on it will happen again. Wrong!! Its so blooming addictive, I have got to wake up and realise its now making me miserable and unhappy. Yes I have spent many wee small hours clicking away - nothing. Oh lets put in another tenner - nothing. And on and on it goes ... mornings are the worst. First of all tired anyway then the thud of realisation of how much I have bet - and lost. Dipped into a few of your posts and realise I am not alone. I ain to make this a new start - NO MORE SLOTS. I want to feel like my old self before I found them, the only way is up I guess and seeing so many of your similar stories really gives me hope. Good luck to us all

Hi Russ

Well done for acknowledging that you have a problem.

My advice to you is to contact the sites that you use straight away and self-exclude yourself. Explain that you ave a problem and that you don't want to gamble any more. Close all of your online accounts. If you use a laptop for your online slots, you can install blocks to gambling sites.

Find out when and where your nearest GA meetings are and give them ago. You will meet people who are going through the same thing a you and, along with the people on this forum, are the only people who actually understand. Listening to their stories will help you to tackle your compulsion to gamble, and they will be the only people who won't just say, "Why didn't you just stop?".

Good luck to you Russ.

Hi Billy. Thank you so much for taking the time to write a response, I am a week on since first posting, I felt that was truly my "rock bottom" day, never felt like that before in my life. And I didnt like it! I have excluded myself from the sites I was with, and that felt like liberation! Each day I feel that little bit better about myself, and I check my bank balance every day and apart from necessary outgoings, my god, Ive still got money left! Before, I would literally spend on sites til it showed 0, I already feel I am getting to be where I wanted - like my old self. I know I am probably in that kind of euphoric "arent I wonderful, giving it all up" stage, and am prepared for those nagging compulsion feelings to surface at some point and I think you may be right about meetings, as you say just to be somewhere to talk where only those who are in this trap truly understand, so will consider making that my next step. Thank you again Billy for your kind words, advice and empathy. It truly means a lot to me right now. Good luck to you too
