Hi guys not sure what to rite but ill give it a go.
My name is steve I'm 33 and I'm on here like everyone else who has a problem with gambling at some point in there life.
I've gambled since I was 20 and mostly on football. And the horses now and again but mostly 95% football.
My Gambling has caused alot of problems for me. ive lost my fiancee and three young kids and its had big impact on my behaviour as I get stressed and worry alot how I'm going to cope when I've lost all my wages.and how I'm going to pay billsa and things. I get angray easy when I've lost I would snap at the ex alot as I would be in such a bad mood with myself for falling into that trap again..
I've just been paid on friday there and I've lost what I had left when I paid my bills so glad I did or I would have lost the lot. Chasing my lost bet as always!
Any way I just want to get the help I need as I know I have a big problem gambling and I just want to get help with it asap and I been on here before and read some forms and you guys out there give each another so much support.. well done to you who do!!
I thought I'd give this a go and talk about my problem and face up to it. Once and for all.....Any advice from anyone would be so much appreciated. Thanks steve

Hi Steve,
Welcome to the Forum, and thanks for your post.
It seems like you’ve been struggling with your gambling problem for a number of years now, and it has cost you a huge sum of money, and most important of all, your wife and three kids. This must be very difficult for you, and I can understand your anxiety and frustration. Obviously, snapping at your ex for your gambling problem didn’t help the situation.
You made a good move by joining the forum for support to help you to overcome your problematic gambling, and hopefully, your situation will begin to change gradually as you follow the advice. Try and be patient with yourself, and take it one step at a time.
By joining the forum, I hope you get a lot of support and advice from fellow forum members on strategies to put in place to help you to overcome your gambling problem.
You didn’t state whether you gamble online or, at the bookies or both. Whichever one it is, Gamcare is ready to advise you on that.
Perhaps it would be advisable to contact our free phone Helpline on 0808 8020 133, and speak to one of advisers. An adviser would be able to refer you for 12 sessions of free counselling, and nearest to where you live, if you think that would help you to overcome your gambling problem. We can also recommend some internet blocking software to stop you from accessing gambling sites in case you need it.
You’re trying, and I’ll encourage you to keep up with the good work.
Pls. keep posting into the forum as often as you can.
Kind regards,
Beatrice
