Hello everyone.

After gambling for 7 years, I decided to finally put an end to it all 100 days ago. I'm so pleased to say that 100 days later i remain gamble free. All the hurt, anger, regret, lies, frustration and pain now remains a thing of the past.

For anyone suffering from this horrible addiction, i post this story to inspire you to live a gamble free lifestyle too. Life without gambling, why didn't i try it sooner? My wellbeing has improved, i have money in the bank leftover from the previous months, me and my fiancee have been doing more things together and planning for a better future.

I know and admit i can never be fully cured from gambling addiction. It will always be programmed in my brain that a 1p bet could cause it to all come back.

For anyone reading this whether new or old to the forum that is wanting to stop then the key for me was to get strong gamble blocks in place ASAP. Dont say you will do it soon or ill think about it. Get self excluded from shops and online ASAP.

100 days ago when i handed my finances over to my fiancee and self excluded myself from every single bookmaker in a 15 mile radius the source of gambling was removed meaning i knew i had no other way. This allowed me to take a step back and think about how gambling was slowly starting to effect my life for the worse. Luckily my gambling only became a problem 2 years into the 7 years i started. I feel im lucky to be where i am. If it wasn't for my fiancee i couldnt of done.

Again i hope this post can inspire and help others too. I'll be posting everytime i hit a milestone but i'll keep checking everyday on the forum to offer help, advice and support to anyone who is looking for it.

All the best,
Embracing.

Thank you for your replies.

Ineffable, i had a look over your past threads and seen one about going back to gambling after two and half years. Can i just ask what made you go back after such a while away. I'm only 102 days gamble free and though i feel i will never gamble again, i just want to teach myself on things what have caused others to relapse.
