Good morning everyone,
Checking in with one more gamble free week. Recovering from a gambling addiction is not going to be easy but we are all making changes to our daily routines and lifestyles in order to kick this habit. Most of us will face temptations on a daily basis but try to remain strong and take one day at a time.
Have a great weekend.
Mike
Hi all I'd like to join in this aswell, iv went 11 days so far without gambling a penny and its thanks to some of the comments and storys form peopket on this, keep it up.
Hi all,
Well im back, I had a relapse and have been gambling the last couple of weeks, i thought i had this thing cracked after 4-5 month gamble free, but it crept back up on me and i started off with a small bet, no problem i thought, then it got bigger and bigger until lost all i could get my hands on again. Feel stupid and a loser at present but i am more determined this time.
I hope i can rejoin the group, this saturday i will be checking in on day 3.
Thanks D
checking in for the week 🙂
i have also changed my mind about the new site. i have been very distant with reading andoffering a few words of advice in the past months and i apologise, just checking in once a week isnt good enough so once again lets change the brain and offer all i can should anyone need some help
in the first instance when we admit we need to change its tough to break the habit, but its possible...... so the habit i am now gonna break is being a lazy b*****d and be here for you all more, it took the loss of a good soldier and friemd from this challenge to make me realise this and i for 1 cant wait til he returns.
god bless
del 🙂
Checking in hi to all.another good week, always get tempted by international football but I will not walk through the bookies door anymore.

Hi, checking in after another GF week.
Elfie x
Hi would like to check in - completely gf since 6/11/14.
Been not too bad but the big test is yet to come, i have some money in my pocket today and i am off out to see my local football team in the junior leagues, their ground and pub im going to is next to a bookies. I am absolutely determined i will not walk through those doors and i will only continue gambling in my dreams or nightmares!
Have a great gf weekend!
Disappointingly I had a bet (only the one then I stopped) yesterday evening!! I did not lose any money luckily but I did break my committment to myself. So what would have been Day 253 today is now Day 1:(. I have now had 2 slips this year, once in March and once yesterday but as I have this far made it nearly all year without gambling or losing money I will try not to be too hard myself.
Mr B - you have made a lot of effort with this group and I regret letting down the table but taking part has definitely helped and now I think time that I moved on from the group - thanks for all your efforts and thereby helping me stay ganmble free substantially all year. Good luck to you and the rest of the group with their recoveries!

Apologies for the late arrival of the update this week and for the lack of activity on my part on the forum this week – I’ve been mental busy! Santa arrived at Dobbies this morning so I’m trying to contain a hyper 4 year old…………I was at an awards ceremony on Friday and my site won a big award (superb!)……..I’m also battling with mice in the house – they’ve chewed through the dishwasher hose (twice now – grrrrrrr) and there’s been no more Mr Niceguy this week. Tough measures. Sadly I aint no plumber although I’m learning quickly! Today is the day I win.
A quick pause for thought – Christmas is 5 weeks on Thursday – gift yourself, your family, your friends and your future the best present you ever could – a gamble free you. That’s a gift that never stops giving…………..
In the shorter update this week I’ll cover off the headlines, welcome old and new soldiers, highlight the celebrations from the week gone by and those that are coming in the next 7 days, plus provide the counts via the roll of honour. So here goes………………
Headlines for the Week
Welcome to Soldiers……Old and New!
Welcome to a new soldier – slotsnomore. It’s great to have you with us and I hope this challenge helps you retain focus on the most amazing prize of being gamble free. We’ve had a great retention of new soldiers and I hope you keep this success rate high!
Celebrating Milestones………….last week and the next 7 days…………..
I Wished hit the Double Century and now has 202 days of gamble free living behind her – congratulations Suzanne – brilliant going!
Had they checked in this week we would have also recognised Adam Price joining the Century Club and Matty1658 reaching the half century – hope you are still going strong soldiers.
Mr Brightside will hit the 50 week mark next Sunday – Scambling, where are you? With a check in this week, Scambling will also be on 50 weeks and a significant step closer to the full year 2 weeks on Saturday!! Can’t wait!
Mile End will become the newest member of the Century Club on Tuesday – a major milestone Mile End and one I know will carry great significance for you. Really looking forward to you joining the triple figure brigade!!
The Roll of Honour
NameClean Days
Drum roll………total days free of gambling since the Challenge began……….
12823 Days = £641,150 in our pockets………………..£0 in the bookies!!!
Here’s who never made it back this week that I hope rejoin us in the coming 7 days:-
That’s the update for this week then everyone – we are strong and getting even stronger. Let’s push on to the end of the year and laugh in the face of those who wish to tempt us back.
Have a great week team!
Mr Brightside
