Thank you for the update Mr B and I hope you are having a 'mice' weekend.... Sorry to read of LAF's departure - it does seem to be a dangerous time of year for lapsing - perhaps it's just a question of people feeling down in these dark and wet days...... Let's hope Christmas and the New Year brings renewed hope and encouragement to us all. Congratulations to everyone for their individual milestones, however large or small. Checking in early in case I forget in the coming busy week.

Best wishes - Joanna

Checking in 63 days free of gambling after a quality weekend in Cardiff. Great city and hopefully not my last visit. Feeling great apart from the headache and lack of sleep.

Hi guys

sorry I missed check in this weekend, been going well and still no gambling thoughts. Been another good week for me just taking it a day at a time and keeping it as simple as possible.

Cheers

morning all. checking in on day 173 gf.

i can see how easy it would be to go back to old ways for people with a gambling problem, with christmas just around the corner and the pressure to buy the gifts for the kids, birthdays etc. thankfully i have stayed strong. i've been giving my husband money to look after that i have been using for christmas and still have managed to have some savings left.

best wishes for the future everyone, stay strong and together we can do it!!!

It's never too late to join. Welcome soldier, just remember to constantly update your progress weekly. I suggest you browse the home page for more details into the program. It's a great tool to reflect on your weeks performance and highlight the good points for the week and areas for improvement.

Best of luck soldier!

Evening everyone!

Great to see some early check ins and also to have ccw95 back at base camp!

Hope14 - as AndyJ says, we'd be delighted to have you with us. Please read the very first post on page 1 of this thread and drop another post in confirming you still want to join - if you do so I'll add you to the group on Sunday. All the very best with your recovery.

In case I forget, I'll be late again with the update this Sunday - need to do a car boot to try and get some additional Christmas funds! Update will be on some point mid to late Sunday afternoon.

Mr B - checking in exactly 3 weeks before I'll be able to claim my 365 days and a gamble free year! For those of you struggling, the thoughts never go, at least they haven't for me but it does get easier to divert attention to more wholesome things. Stay strong.

Have a great "rest of the week"!

Mr B!

Hi Mr B, checking in on day 62 gamble free which equates to 2 months gamble free. Still being positive. Small steps, one day at a time. No real urges at all but the knowledge is there that they could lurk up and I must ensure I never give in to them again. The last year has taught me so much ........so glad I found this forum and with help and support albeit with a few stumbles along the way I'm now on a steady path to a gamble free life.

Be strong everyone, think how you'll feel starting the new year gamble free.

Mo

Argggh keep forgetting to check in. Apologies all. Make that 62 days gamble free. Well done to everyone else.

Have a monthly post treatment support group tomorrow, didn't really enjoy the last one but I think it will be good to go. I promised my GF I would tell a couple of close friends about my problem but finding it very difficult to do - I don't want to let her down but still feel so embarassed about everything.

Checking in. Think yesterday was actually my day 100, but the irony of it gave no celebration. Basically got dumped from the girl I was seeing, watched Scotland lose and also know if wasn't for all the blocks in place/ self exclusion and restricted Internet access these past few weeks I'dve gambled again at some point for sure. I've not gambled so at least don't have that horrible rock bottom feeling to deal with and need to keep reminding myself of this as well as not letting the group down. Hope everyone else is having a much better week.

Hello fellow soldiers!!

It's been an uncharacteristically busy Wednesday!! Today's check ins have taken us up to the half way point for the week or slightly over it actually - it's already looking like we need a decent Friday and Saturday to have everyone return to base camp safely.

Mile End - didn't realize that you were in Scotland soldier - or at least Scottish. Last nights game wasn't good (well for us anyway!) - totally outplayed and out thought and for once, out worked. Really disappointing, but maybe a good thing - had we won last night then we would have been world beaters and expected to qualify for France - this way our feet are back on the ground. Not good about the girlfriend either mate - it does allow you to focus on you though......probably most important right now even though that sounds a bit selfish.......and then you can start a relationship with no baggage and a clean slate. Most importantly thought, you're a member of the Century Club - the longest I've known you to have gone. It's a really big reason to be proud and to hold yourself high and feel a real sense of achievement and self worth. On this I'm delighted for you and really proud to be on this journey with you too.

Congrats also to Mo - another Scottish compadre! 2 months is great going and getting into habit breaking territory. Really well done - next stop is a quarter of a year!!

Welcome back Dot - get that alarm set weekly so you're not missing check ins and being really tied in to the group! Superb to see you again.

A busy few days ahead for me so may be quiet. Hope the team are having a good week!

Take care everyone,

Mr B!!
