Hi Claire,
Checking in on 497 days, still find it unbelievable at times lol, but it is believable, doable, and definitely possible for everyone,
Have a good gambling free week troops, to win by abstaining, and not gambling, feels great it really does. Because we do,win our lives back and that is what counts.

Struggling to do the update today I'm afraid troops. All is well but I've been applying for jobs and have only just finished. I will endeavour to sort the update tomorrow. My apologies and thanks to everyone who has checked in.
Clare
Sadly I slipped today. I am going off the challenge now and will apply the learnings off from it. Good luck everyone.
Sorry to read you are coming off the challenge Will, but it will still be here if you want to return/ continue x
Fingers crossed for you Claire on your job hunting, and don't worry about the uodate, do it when you have time x

I just wanted to say congratulations to everyone who is still on this challenge. For those there from the beginning, you are now over 2/3 of the way through the year and that is a great achievement. I stopped posting a couple of months ago as I kept forgetting and it seemed an unnecessary burden for those running it. However this thread was a huge support to me at the beginning of the year when I really was low - I checked the thread every day for at least 3 months, and the simple act of doing that and checking in once a week really did help. It is now about 265 days since I last had a bet (dec 2014) so I would urge those at the beginning of their journey to use this forum as much as you can - it really can help.

Some great words of encouragement from Gingermotty this week, thanks for popping by.
andy14 hit the century this week and Time4honesty goes two weeks gamble free.
Apologies again for the late update and kept it short and sweet.
We have I wished getting to 500 days this week, I'll look forward to seeing that in two days time Suzanne !
Keep going everyone, keep checking in and watching the days pass by without running up debts, without chasing losses and feeling stressed about losing money.
Each and every one of us is a success story, stay strong this week !
Clare (Boxingdaysmay15)
Check in on day 149

Thanks Claire...great update and really encouraging so many big numbers on there. This thing CAN be beaten provided you have the will and the correct barriers in place.
Will take this oppurtunity to check in for the week also ; have a great week one and all.
Checking in 251,, sorry thought I had checked in last week,,,Anyway still going strong
Glad you're still going strong barryt27.
We have a very strong group now marching towards the last quarter of 2015, strength in numbers. Some amazing achievements and if you count the total days this year you've not gambled, you should feel very proud. Some of you have done great and not slipped once. Others have maybe slipped once or twice (myself included) but what is important is that we keep making the effort.
This challenge has probably saved me around £5000 - £6000 so far this year as a rough estimate. I'm proud to keep checking in each week and report no gambling and it keeps me going. Reminding myself of the debts I've to pay off helps me in moments where urges strike. I've accepted I'll never make money from gambling. I've accepted I'll always lose. I've accepted it does not give me pleasure. It makes me anxious. It causes health issues, physically and mentally. It can destroy relationships.
I'm checking in this week with almost 120 days gamble free. This is my previous best and now I'm going to continue and see out this challenge for the rest of 2015 and beyond.
Stay safe and keep checking in!
HUGE congratulations to I wished Suzanne on 500 days TODAY !!!!
