First Day checking in. I'm needing this to get back on track.

My story is probably one you can all relate too. I look forward to using this and progress to where I want to be.

Stewart

Well I managed to stop gambling from May 2015 up until early December 2015. I went from losing all my money and running up £14k+ debts through loans/credit cards/overdrafts on this awful illness. Fiver leads to 10 then we all know that grows to £10+. Before I knew it I was placing bets of £500+. I once lost over £4000 in a day gambling on roulette and sports. Chase, chase, chase..... lose, lose, lose.

It was the start of December 2015, I feel in control so I'll put the fiver accumulator on. Lost. Next week another fiver, week after £10 and then the old habits creep back. This weekend £1400 gone. All on sports betting. It's really quite incredible as I was telling myself to limit what bets I take. We all know as gamblers it isn't as easy as that.

Well I'm back to square one. First huge relapse. I almost feel relief that I've been punished like this. It's my own fault. This is my story and I'm ready to face the challenge head on!

Welcome to the challenge Stewart1982 and thank you for sharing your story. I hope you can draw a line under your latest blip and go even better this time than your previous 7 month gamble free stretch.

Good luck and I look forward to seeing your gamble free progress.

Mike

Hi all,

Welcome to this weeks check-in! Great to see so many people in safe and sound..we'#re currently at 37. Welcome to the new members - hope to see you checking in weekly and getting those days count ticking upwards. Some of your introductory stories are so familiar and remind me to stay on my toes and to keep vigilant.

Massive congratulations to MrStop for getting to a year bet free. An amazing achievement. Also congrats to TheGerman for smashing his personal best - well done!

The challenge remains open for anyone who still wishes to join. There has been some criticism that people aren't getting responses on this thread...can I respectfully suggest that the diary section gets a lot more visits and practical advise so might be worth telling your story there.

I am going for it. sorted a bit of finance out, jsut cheecking my balane and keeping thins going. business is good. Hope to get that £400 mark by the end of the month, that will make a huge difference to me, for the first time, i may not be charged for going overdrawn!!

I need to keep concentrating. I think checking my bank balance every day is motivating me to do the right things. Thanks everyone!!

Keep up the hard work! one day at a time!!!!
