Checking in. 280 days of doing the right thing and not succumbing to temptation. 280 days of honesty and facing up to life rather than hiding behind a screen. One day at a time for all of us, lets keep marching on soldiers x

Checking in day 24.

Payday this week for me so I shall abstain and ensure I stay strong. I think most of my money is spoken for on debts anyway! Blocks in place and I shall keep myself busy. Stay strong everybody

Hi everyone,

Checking in on 772 gamble free days. I have had a great week as I have finally had approval and confirmation of a mortgage to buy a new home. This now allows me to put the past well and truly behind me and give my wife and children some security for the future.

This would have 100% never happened during my gambling days. Back then I was too busy applying for loans, taking out pay days advances, borrowing money of family and friends, selling personal items just to fund my gambling addiction. It all resulted in the same outcome: Feeding my addiction to put me in more and more unsustainable debt!

Since I have stopped, my creditors are happy as I don't miss any payments, my credit rating has increased to the point I don't get turned down for new applications and my wife can safely use our bank cards at the supermarket without the cashier telling her

'Sorry, you card has been refused'

I lived 25 years in a gambling fantasy thinking I could always win! You can't win because you can't stop!

If you are on day 5 or day 500 of your individual recovery then if you give it 100% of your effort and put in the barriers then you can change your life's around for the better.

My gambling guard remains fully up as the addiction will always remain with me.

Have a great Sunday.

Mike
