Good Evening
Back once again and hoping to return to the challenge. I've done a week and it's been tough. My problem was always mainly online gambling but these past few months I've struggled to stay away from the slots at the bingo and often spent hundreds in just a few hours. I've now decided enough is enough and it has to stop before I end up in gambling debt forever. Having reconsolidated debts onto yet another new credit card this week ... I've worked out I could be debt free by Christmas 2020. This date cannot keep changing and I must get my life in order ... I'll be forty soon and it's ridiculous I'm still shoving hundreds into the dreaded machines, absolutely knowing 100% I'll never ever win!
Much of my debt can be attributed to gambling if I'm honest. I joined this site in 2014 and with nearly three years of saying enough is enough, this time has to be different. Has anyone any experience of banning themselves from land based bingo halls in the U.K. ? I've read up and I think I can do it over the phone telephoning my local club. Bit apprehensive as you have to submit a photo etc. Wonder if any of you have ever tried this to prevent yourself gambling ?
Nice to see familiar names still securely at the top of the latest weekly update - well done to each of you on this challenge that's along the path of quitting. I hope and pray that I can stay strong enough this time to stay gamble free.
Morning BDF,
You're more than welcome to join back up as is anyone. Let's make this your last day one. You do seem stuck in a cycle ATM you need to take control back and if that means pushing yourself out of your comfort zone it needs to be done. Remember nothing changes if nothing changes.
Keep checking in and maybe start using your diary again for a start.

Thanks KTF. Wise words and I do need to make this the last day one. If I added up what I've lost this year I bet it would've been a very nice holiday ... or a much larger chunk paying off debts. I need to do it this time and break free from the cycle. I may re-start the diary too as you suggest.
Sam checking in safe and sound for the week gamble free!
