Hi, I’m back here after a 2 years of not being on here. I managed to stop gambling from help of these forums a couple years ago for a few month and thought I’d managed shake the urge but I soon slipped back in to it. Been gambling every day since but now more that ever I’m determined to stop. My Mrs knew I used gamble but thinks Iv stopped. It would cause massive issues if she found out that’s  one of the main reasons I need to stop. Iv started my own business recently which is doing well but I’ve been constant taking the odd hundred quid here and there out and she’s going see the statements sooner or later as she helps with my accounts. I need stop this horrible habit before the damage becomes irreversible.

Thanks for coming on and sharing your story. This isn’t something you can battle alone. Sometimes we are at our weakest when we fall, and we can’t bear to face what might come next.

Be open with your partner, then step 2 start putting those measures in place to combat this so you’re not fighting it alone.

Hi jake

Sorry you have gone back to causing your self more pains.

I have lost count of the number of times I went back to it again and was very angry at my self.

In time I would get to understand each one of my emotiona triggers.

To give up my unhealthy reactions to people life and situations.

The recovery is not about fighting.

The recovery is about complete surrender.

That each time I go back to my unhealthy addiction I simple make thinsg much worse.

So just for today only I will nto gamble.

I learned not to beat myself up but the opposite to be more caring loving and patient with myself.
