mi know gamcare can refer to 1-1 counselling but there isn't anything local to me. I feel that I really need some counselling, I have a lot of things to work through and fear I can't truly get out of this until I do.
Can anyone recommend any other charity services? Or any successes being refereed via GP? Otherwise I'd need to pay privately which isn't really an option as it would be detrimental to repaying my debts.
Thanks
Try giving Gamcare a call and if you already have, try again. Sure they may have some ideas or at worst may be able to give you a trustworthy referral.
I think Gamcare offer an online option. Mr L used their 1-1 service and found it very beneficial even though he couldn't complete the full number of sessions offered.
Hi Lizzy32,
Thanks for post, and also for sharing your concerns here.
Regarding your need for counselling support, I advise that you contact us (Gamcare) on our free phone Helpline on: 0808 8020 133, and speak to an adviser regarding a referral.
In case there’s nowhere near you, we can refer you to an online counselling via a webcam, or sign-post you to BACP.
How about trying to discuss this with your GP as well? Any of the above mentioned services would be willing to give you the support that you need.
I wish you well in your effort to overcome your gambling problem, and please do try and stay in touch with us, so we can continue to support you.
Please keep posting!
Regards,
Beatrice
