Hi

The gambling addiction was a very unhealthy painful habit.

By going to meeting we can make much healthier choies with out time and our money.

The gambling addiction was a form of escape and an adrenaline rush yet it was a form of self abuse.

By going to more meetings I was abvale to abstain from gambling and live a much healthier life.

Welldone Linda 22 days is great achievement it took me around 6 weeks just to get into normal routine am at 324 days gamble free coming up to a year i still have regrets and still get those low days however they have become more like split second thoughts rather then urgues my life is almost normal since i managed to clear my debt even thought at the time i felt it was virtually impossible you need to give it time and take each day as it comes i hope this helps👍

Thankyou for your replies. I know I have a long road in front of me.  I feel I've lost myself, down all the time and distant from people. Constantly worrying about my debt even though I'm managing to pay it. 2 1/2 to 3 years of paying everything back is daunting. Only myself to blame. Trying to stay upbeat but it's very very hard. One day at a time and hopefully il start to feel better soon.

Ive reached a year GF. I felt low when I first stopped and really struggled but can say now ive pushed past the year the urge is gone.

I will admit years ago that I have gambled and relapsed many times over but this time I did seek therapy and gambling rarely becomes a consideration now.

.22 days GF is an achievement...best of luck on the journey

It's a brilliant achievement. I do think it's natural to feel down especially because of the rush that gambling can give you. The endorphins that you're not getting. It's a drug.

But it's so much better for your health, wellbeing and obviously financially. I think the down days will go away the longer you don't gamble.

Head up. You're doing amazing.

It's completely normal to feel up and down during the first few weeks of going gluten-free as your body adjusts. This emotional rollercoaster can last for a few weeks to a few months, depending on how your body reacts. Stick with it and consider talking to a healthcare professional or joining a support group to help manage these changes.
