Does it get easier?

Hi, this is more a question for the users who have gone a long time without gambling. I've been nearly 2 weeks without having a bet now. In every single one of those days I've thought about gambling, not so far as to seriously want to put a bet on, but just thinking about it.

Does it get better? Can you get to a point where you barely even think about it anymore? I just feel like I'm constantly on edge at the moment.

Everyone is different Clinton

If you read some of the diaries on here many hardly seem to think about gambling at all.

i'm not one of those people but even though I think about gambling often, i try to not let it affect who I am as a person. I have counselling and attend meetings to help me keep on track.

Food for thought

Hi Clinton

I have been gamble free for approx 4 years now. Up until december last year I was still having thoughts about gambling. Not necessarily wanting to gamble (sometimes maybe), but just thoughts about gambling. These use to occur probably 2 to 5 or so times a month.

This year I have had the occasional thought, but definitely no urges to actually gamble. All I can say is that the longer you do not gamble, the easier it becomes to not gamble. The problem then is to make sure that you do not get over confident. Just do it one day at a time. It will get easier.

Best wishes
