Hello,

Please join me in this challenge. I currently have my own diary open, feel free to read, but I would like to start this challenge. After the month of February (hopefully gamble free), I will then continue my diary. I aim to go the WHOLE month without gambling. I don't think I have done that in the last 2 years to be honest. This is the month that we will do it, then continue to be GF!

I'm going to update daily starting tomorrow.

Best of luck everyone and PLEASE join me!

Have been reading a few of your threads/posts and look forward to the daily updates and the gamble free month to then take into this year with us. That starts from now and hopefully can find alternative ways round things that can help to prevent the misery of gambling. Have previously gone 9 months twice, 6 months and more recently 3 months gamble free so maybe a month won't feel much of a achievement but let's see where it gets us and long may it continue 🙂

February The 1st - I hope others are following me in this challenge. Today is day 1, and the first of 27 more days to come! Let's get in the correct mindset. It's a new month, a fresh start. Forget what happened yesterday, just try your best to.

I've bought Allen Carr's book, the holy bible to quote a few people on here it seems. I've read the first chapter and can already see that it's going to be very useful. Changing my way of thinking. We gamble, just to feel like the people that don't gamble. So why continue? It's definately going to help me. After I've finished the book I'm going to look for another one. Didn't realise I could download books on my iPhone lol. Boring day at work. Chilling out this weekend, not much to do, might try and sort out car insurance as I passed my driving test this week. But I will NOT gamble. Day 2 awaits...

February The 3rd - I've had a pretty good weekend. I passed my driving test last week and I'm now insured on a little run around. Insurance for new drivers is pretty d**n high, so this is another expense I'll now need to keep ontop of. I'm going to update my money plan with my insurance costs and try not to worry too much about it. I need to continue to take each day as it comes, like I have been.

Well done you keep going and a month will pass quickly by just updating this diary day by day and keep going over and over what you write. I feel this helps me reading over and over the same things until it sinks in. I am now day 24. I’ve been here before but I have completely blocked everything now. It will always be there for me I know this because i have gambled now for 12 years and urges are strong quite a lot. I have to be careful. My bank card is blocked and my friend has helped me with that allowing me money as and when otherwise I would try and gamble even though I am with Gamstop it doesn’t stop foreign online casinos. Keep strong

February The 4th - Had a lot on my mind, not had a lot of time to think about gambling. I do not have the urge, but I'm sure they will be back. But when they come back I will not cave in. My money will no longer be thrown towards gambling. Not anymore. My money is staying where it is. It will last me until next payday, save money, survive, payday. Rinse. Repeat.. Until May. 3 whole months. Then the debt is gone. Day 4 complete. Bring on the rest of the week.

February The 5th - I've had the urge today, been thinking about investing. But it's still a gamble, that's all it is. I don't have the patience for it anyway so I don't know why I'm thinking I'm capable of doing it. Then started thiking I might aswell have a bet if I'm going to do that. But no.. Not today. I've come here to write my thoughts as soon as the urge has hit me. I'm now going to go to the gym. I will survive day 5!

Keep going LPLSTOP! Keep busy so the urges don't come in. I'm 10 days GF so will be with you gamble free through February and beyond.

February The 5th pt.2 - So earlier my first real urge to gamble hit me. I didn't get close to gambling but the thoughts were in my mind. Instantly came here to share what was on my mind, went to the gym, few hours passed by. Completely forgot about gambling. The urge had passed without me even knowing. Day 6 here I come.
