Hi all. I've been gamble free since 16th march 2018. Just over 3 months. This last few days with the World Cup and the horse racing meetings, I've seen ads everywhere, people saying what bets they are doing, people picking their fancies etc etc. The old devil in me has reared its head and it's making me feel sick to pit of my stomach. I'm off work on holiday for a week, and in my down time I feel myself getting tempted. The side of your brain that's acts before it thinks is trying to make my decisions for me. I've been able to resist. But the urge had been getting strong, so I decided to come back to this forum and read my original post as to why I stopped initially. And then I remembered... gambling ruins lives, I have a good one. Gambling makes me sick, I could lose my home, my wife, my kids. It rots my mind and controls me. So I decided to write this, firstly for a bit of therapy for myself, but also, for anyone else who is going through a wobble, give yourself a shake and work out why you stopped in the first place.

Well done on resisting the temptation. So true what you’re saying we can’t do the “fun” bets anymore. I’m already dreading the first day of the football season those 4 leagues have been my sad life for the last ten years, every Saturday afternoon.i’ll come Back and read this post when that time comes for some inspiration!

I was the same but got to the point where 90 mins was too long to wait. I needed a quick hit. Football became my excuse to go to the bookies, but I really just wanted horses and dogs. Best to stay away, the outcome is ALWAYS the same, no matter what angle you go in at.
