I have gambled since I was 18, I'm now 26. Today I excluded myself from as many online casino that I could (all the ones I previously used.) Slots are the problem for me, I don't feel my sports betting has ever really got out of control and so where I could have left these sections open on some websites. I recently won about £2000 on Willhill Vegas slots, in fact I had that money this time last week but now I have none of it and I have no money left in my bank either (luckily I didn't have too much there anyway) I've been losing money like this for years though. There have been times where I thought I need to stop and I questioned what I was doing, I've even gone months in past not playing the slots and felt pretty good doing it but always found myself heading back. I hope I've made the first step now and can start using not only my money but my time to better use aswell. I just play out of boredom, I live with my parents, have no girlfriend (never have) and just feel like I'm doing nothing with my life. I have an ok job and no debts so I guess there are some positives here, lets just see how long I can keep this up.

Hi twentythree,

Well done for posting on here and for wanting to tackle the gambling on 'slot' games.

I can sense that you sometimes feel as if your life lacks a little bit of direction and purpose at that boredom is a catalyst for some of the gambling.

Perhaps there are others in our Forum community who have (or have had) similar feelings and may feel able to offer ideas and support.

The fact that you've been able to look for and identify the positives in your life is good, but maybe you just need to be a little more creative about expanding your horizons.

Perhaps you can think of a couple of work colleagues who might be willing to engage in a light chat about ways of using some of your free time in a more engaging way. Or maybe you can sit down with a friend or relative to fish for some ideas.

In any event, taking control over your gambling is a really positive step in itself - one you can take pride in. Feel free to call us on 0808 8020 133 if you feel it might help you with this. You'll find,I'm sure, that we are easy to talk to.

Kind regards,
