I have signed up for gamstop so far so good although I didn't like losing my poker accounts as my problem is roulette and slots. I've also lost access to bingo sites which I saw as recreation. Any way none of it has been worth it...obviously having a problem I've tried signing up with all casinos I could find...I've been able to sign up to ph casino and lose 1000 euros..So That's Xmas stuffed this year.
Is there anyway I can get this money back or are they exempt from gamstop?? The worst thing was I had no interest in the site but they've just added all the evolution gaming stuff like dreamcatcher so I emptied my bank into them this is EXACTLY what I hoped gamstop would stop...it wasn't an easy decision to sign up.
Hi,
I think it’s unlikely you’ll get your money back. Had you won I’m sure you’d not be saying you’d not want to take the winnings. Not all gambling sites are signed up to Gamstop as stated on the website.
I hope no one reads this who’s signed up to Gamstop and signs up to the site you’ve named. I know it’s not your responsibility but I think including the name will be detrimental to some.
Anyway, hopefully you can see it as a learning curve and look at it that the money is gone because I honestly believe it’s the case it has
Unfortunately there are loads of Curacoa based casinos who aren't registered to Gamstop, this is due to them not having a UK gambling license. The internets full of stories of such casinos taking money from UK players who have no protection from them.
Sorry to hear Xmas is ruined, I've been there and it's horrible.
I'm sorry to hear this but at the same time I do not think this is a thing that should be posted. I have signed up with GAMSTOP and have simply accepted that I'm blocked. The last thing I need is to know there are cracks in the system and certainly where one of those cracks is.
Well if it's any consolation the site appears to be impossible to withdraw money from (hence really wishing I could get my money back) so I would advise staying well clear. I can see gamstop is probably going to be more detrimental to me now as I'm more likely to lose money with stupid things like this or fobts. It's a pity you can't pick one or two sites you don't want excluded from...as with deposit limits and making use of the cool off periods, one could probably keep themself in check whilst still keeping that little bit of excitement in their life. Without that I'm liable to become miserable and dangerous.
Have to agree with ALN and others.
Any gambler who things they can keep playing poker & bingo ‘recreationally’ while address there addiction is kidding themselves or not taking their problem seriously.
You have zero chance of recovering any money- and people should be disabused of the notion that circumventing Gamstop gives them a ‘free hit’ at gambling.
Affected by gambling?
