So what do you do, when you are feeling some distance from your last bet? I have made puchases impulsively on ebay for items that I ended up not really liking or wanting . My brain! Post slots , it still wants to be impulsive and risk. Notedly, I did not take out a loan nor spend recklessly day after day BUT I have felt a need to indulge. I spent $150 ( so small compared to slot zone binge) on sleepwear which I now do not like /or does not fit well and I can not return it. I buy expensive espresso drinks like habit every morning to indulge myself. I do not want to spend that money on esp. drinks every day! I have gone to thrift shops alot recently , like spent an entire daay going from place to place and not buying much , just the action! The action of looking/ seeking... searching for some reward of a great deal on something of value. This is the addiction expressing it's suprression. I imagine this recovery taking years of attention. I am in danger of relapse but have self exclusions in place. I don't want to be complacent. I wonder? What are others exp. with money after you have gotten some distance from your last gambling exp. last big loss.??? tara2
Hi Tara I like this post its come just at the right time for me, I bought a new coat in my first week off gambling. Then to be honest I'm up to day 120 ish and my thoughts of playing poker and getting back into it have come flooding back last two days, must be strong and maybe find a new time spender....

Adam, I hope that you at least liked the coat! I have made impulsive purchases which I ended up not liking or the item did not fit etc. I had to eat the loss but still , it's far less damaging and managable than a casino nightmare! I hope to tame my impulsive side down a bit. Bravery is one thing, recklessness is another. tara2
