i would say before the age of 27, i only did the fruit machines, and mostly with the biggest jackpot of 25 pounds, sometime i put in * pounds and only get * pounds out.
after the age of 27, most amusements has closed down in my town, strangely. so i moved onto bookies and lost lots of money on the FOBTs.
the FOBTs used to suck in * pounds of my money at a time. in 1 hour.
back in 2006, i lost * to FOBTs in 2 months
after 35, however, after a nasty separation from my wife, i stoped the FOBTs altogether. and spent everyday and everynight at the local casino for nearly 3 years. met lots of gambling friends, all bad losser, most of them went bankrupt, even got old stranger woman to by me pizzas once.
in the casino, it was like a big family, all are losers, comfortable chairs and free drinks, good music, and you know everybody.
then one day in july last year, after losing * pounds in one go stupidly, i self excluded myself from casino for one year.
i am back in bookies. its a nasty experience just to walk into a bookie, never mind place a bet, even on the self servicing machines.
i will definitely get back to the local casino from july, and never self exclude again. if i am going to lose money, at least i'll get some free drinks in the casino. no bookies ever again in my life.
the 9000 bookies in uk are 9000 of h**l in uk. whoever goes in there will get a proper robbing by the FOBTs and also an unpleasant encounter.
my only advise to the other uk gamblers out there, from the experience of a 40 years old uk gambler is stay away from the bookies and stay away from the online casino websites, self exclude from them all.
just go to the local casino occasionally, have fun, and just bring 10 pound with you. whats the worst that could happen?
gambling has ruined my life, no doubt,
online gambling site are the worst, you sit at home, and they rob you blind. self exclude from all the online sites immediately, it works. do it.
This feels like a spoof/troll post to me. 🙁
I hope not.
You don't type like a UK resident, and all this about how you can't wait to get back to the casino... it doesn't exactly ring true for someone so desperate to quit gambling that they have signed up to gamstop.
Affected by gambling?
