Having basically stolen thousands of pounds from my girlfriend to gamble with, I think I've found out.

Does anyone ever think the addiction, and subsequent pain and suffering will only stop when they cease to exist?

And that's a pretty sad thought to have sat alone in a car park 🙁

It sounds glib but it's a true saying - "Tomorrow is always a new day".

Nothing is so bad that you can't get over it. Nothing is so bad you can't be forgiven given time. No damage is so deep it can't eventually be repaired.

Things may seem impossible in this moment, but nothing lasts forever - good times/bad times. If you are feeling rock bottom right now then please email/call Samaritans. Money is bullsheet, it comes and goes. Life is precious, and however "bad" or lost we've become, there's always someone who loves us and would miss us if we weren't here anymore.

Make this moment count. Make right now the moment, looking back happy in a year's time, that you took a stand and said "No More!" and turned it all around.

Best wishes to you.

M

There's a lot of good advice on here. You are not alone. There are plenty of us who struggle to come to terms with our gambling. It's not easy but is anything that's worthwhile easy? Gambling is a fast track way to ruination and you now realise that. Firstly you have to forgive yourself before you can move on. You made mistakes, bad life choices but as the others have said its only money. You can work hard and get it back. Life is precious and you only get one chance. Seize the moment and make tomorrow the first day I your path to redemption.

Hello Gazelle

Sounds like you're hitting rock bottom. If you are having feelings about ceasing to exist, don't carry that alone. Contact the Samaritans on 08457 90 90 90, and your GP.

And give us a call on the GamCare helpline too - 0808 8020 133 and we'll help you get your recovery back on track.

Best wishes
