Hi, I have just had a relaspe after 7 months but I have now stopped and self excluded from the site. Before I self excluded I had £300 to come back from them and I asked live chat if I could still get the money after I self excluded and they said yes.

Yesterday I had an e-mail from them saying they want documentation from me and I have to reopen the account and use the link on it. I really can't stress enough how much I don't want that account back open. I have e-mailed them back to say I would like them to provide me with another way of supplying the documents and I haven't heard back from them yet.

I am lossing sleep over this and stressing about it, if I open that account I am back to square one. I won't withdraw that money I will gamble it. Has anyone else had this happen to them after they self excluded and can give me some advise please.

Thanks

T xx

Hi T and welcome to the Forum,

Unfortunately, we cannot advise on the best course of action. Perhaps one of the members here would have some ideas. In any event, we would not recommend that you re-open the account and that you further block your access to online gambling by blocking your device. There is information on things you can do to manage your gambling problem on this link:

http://www.gamcare.org.uk/get-advice/what-can-you-do

You may also find it helpful to speak to a GamCare advisor either by calling the Helpline or using the Netline. Dealing with problem gambling is not easy and especially without support. I do hope you take the next step and contact us.

Best wishes,

Yep the account needs to be open as its restricts their deposit withdrawal process otherwise. However some others just close the account and send it weeks later. Maybe best reopening and instantly putting restrictions on the account. Last one I did I was self excluded and only activity allowed was to withdraw from them but could not play games or deposit but that was very much an exception to normal rules.

On a similar note, I have 5 different actions outstanding with the GC at the moment for casinos not following their T&Cs so I would check these in the first instance before your do a thing

I’m on the same position but what I did is that, I asked them yesterday if I will get the withdrawal after I self-exclude, and told me no I have to keep it open until it’s completed. Now I’m here trying my best not to log in at all because I know once I do, back to square one and will lose all the money by cancelling the withdrawal and play all off. Try to send them documents through email and see what they will say but don’t open that account and tell them the reason you don’t want to reopen it

Thanks everyone, I still haven't had a reply to my e-mail from last Tuesday so today I just emailed the documents to them. I guess I will just have to wait and see what happens. If I don't hear back from them in a week I will contact them again to get an update.

Send them payment details by post? I wrote to the head office by snail mail and the refund (of single figures) found it’s way back onto the card.

They are in major breach of their licence and will be in big trouble with the Gambling Commission if they find out they are making problem gamblers log in to withdraw funds. I would send them this.
