I've been three days clean of gambling now after I won my losses back but I got myself in a state the other night where I nearly lost most of my savings and I was very lucky to win it back. This put me off placing any bets for a while but I've just been wanting to play some roulette online since last night knowing I have money in my bank account. I understand it was so easy to nearly lose it all yet it also seems like it was so easy to gain it back. I allocated all of that money to my savings and rounded them up to the nearest 10/100. I've £20 remaining on my card and right now I just feel like trying my luck and depositing this £20 and having a few spins just simply out of boredom and would simply love it if I won as much money as the other night.

But then I also remember how horrible I felt the other night losing everything. And if I lose this £20 deposit I'll want to try my best to then win it back and that's where I've learnt I end up blowing nearly all of my savings. But I'm just bored on the evenings when I'm not gambling now I've realised and I'm just wondering if there's anyone out there who could give me some advice just to occupy my mind away from wanting to gamble?

Time and boredom are not your friends at the moment. You have to discover ways of occupying your mind during the times when you have nothing much else to do.

You will need to find some hobby that you enjoy. I like reading. It's not unusual for me to read 2 books a week. Crosswords or logic puzzles can keep your brain ticking over as well. How about catching up with some non-gambling friends? Watch some telly. If there is nothing good to watch as usual, hire a couple of dvds. You could go for a walk or run, maybe join a gym and get into a fitness regime.

It all depends on what you feel like you would enjoy doing. Whatever you choose has to occupy your mind and divert your attention from any thoughts of gambling.

Best wishes
