Checking in on day 393 which is 1 week from my next target of 400 days. Apart from a mad dream where I had a bet then was going to have a chase after it lost and had a word with myself then woke up I ain’t even had a thought about gambling in ages

Thank you all for your kind comments and I’m truly delighted with the sincerity in all of our desires to tame this destructive beast of an addiction.

It has been good to be of help. What is life if we can’t do the right thing for our fellow man (and woman!).

That is a positive legacy we leave, in the thoughts and memories of others. There are some very, very decent indeed people here on these forums.

Take care everyone, I will update if I can. Thank you for your understanding. I wish you all well.

Mixer

Great to hear from you Mixer.

I relapsed, but I'm taking inspiration and advice from people like you. None of us are perfect, but there's proof on this forum that improvemnets can be made and maintained. When we slip, we start again.

135 days... and you know what? It's really good for my brain to do this. Even though emotions flow hard and strong and I have to 'live and learn' day after day, it's my brain that will be so much more clear as days go on. I can't , could never keep up with lies, losses, calculations, painted on smiles and acts of being okay when I was not etc. etc. At least now when I'm not doing well , it's not as embarrassing to talk about because I'm not at this moment trying deal with the interneal Hell of losing a months wages or any other gambling scenario. o*g. odaat. It's not easy. tara2

140 today. I'm happy in some small way. I'm not ecstatic but I feel a sense of ease. I had very long week alone which I managed to not do much. tara2

Day 29.

I've re-discovered working out. Headphones in. Lift weights. Meal plan etc.. i find that blocks in place, visiting hear for additional strength (seeing it's possible) + a hobby = successful start

Keep up the good work all. A punch bag is a great investment for when it gets tough!!
